iCloud Sync
AnyTally syncs your tallies across iPhone, iPad, and Mac through iCloud. There's nothing to set up — the first launch on each device wires it up automatically.
How it works
Your data lives in your personal iCloud account, in a private database only AnyTally can read. No accounts, no logins, no AnyTally servers.
When you make a change on one device, it syncs to the others within a few seconds.
Requirements
- You need to be signed into iCloud on each device.
- iCloud Drive needs to be enabled.
- AnyTally needs to be installed on each device.
What syncs
Everything — tallies, rows, stash, tags, goals, and unit settings.
A couple of preferences stay device-local on purpose: which tally you opened last, and the Section headings toggle in Settings. Those don't follow you across devices.
Offline edits
You can use AnyTally without an internet connection. Changes queue up locally and sync the next time you're online.
Troubleshooting
If sync feels stuck:
- Confirm all devices are signed into the same iCloud account.
- Force-quit and reopen the app on the device that's behind.
- In your device's iCloud settings, make sure AnyTally is enabled.
Give the first sync 30 to 60 seconds. It uses Apple's silent push notifications, which can take a moment to arrive.
