Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about AnyTally.

AnyTally is a simple, native tally counter for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. You create a tally for anything you want to count, add rows as you go, and watch the total update live.

Anything you can count: calories, water, expenses, workouts, pages read, screen time, habits, inventory — whatever you like. Each tally has its own name, color, icon, and unit, so it fits what you’re counting.

It’s a native app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, built with SwiftUI. Your tallies stay in sync across all of them through your own iCloud account.

No. There are no accounts and no sign-ups. AnyTally works entirely on your device, and syncing happens through your personal iCloud account.

If you’re signed in to iCloud, AnyTally keeps your tallies in sync across your Apple devices using Apple’s CloudKit. The sync happens between your own devices — your data never passes through our servers.

Yes. AnyTally collects nothing. Your tallies live on your device and in your own iCloud account, with no analytics and no tracking. See our Privacy Policy for the details.

A tally is the thing you’re counting (like “Water” or “Expenses”). Rows are the individual values you add to it — each with an optional label, added or subtracted. The total updates as you add rows.

Yes. Each row can be a plus or a minus, so you can add to a total or subtract from it. That makes AnyTally handy for things like budgets, where money comes in and goes out.

Each tally can carry a goal: a target to reach or a limit to stay under. A progress bar shows how close you are, and the total changes color when you reach your goal or cross your limit.

Day-based tallies group rows by day with a quick date switcher — ideal for daily things like water or calories. Free-form tallies let rows accumulate over time without dates — good for running totals like savings or a reading count.

Number, currency, calories, steps, minutes, hours, kilometers, miles, kilograms, pounds, milliliters, liters, and percent. AnyTally formats values (and currency symbols) to match the unit you pick.

The Stash holds reusable rows for a tally. Save the rows you add often and drop them back in with a tap — no retyping the same label and value each time.

Yes. AnyTally is local-first, so it works fully offline. Any changes you make sync automatically through iCloud once you’re back online.

AnyTally is offered as a subscription through Apple’s App Store. The current price and any free trial are shown on the App Store listing.

Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so you manage them in your Apple account settings: open the App Store, tap your account, then Subscriptions. You can cancel anytime there and keep access until the end of the current period.
